What we know about you (not much)

Attic & Ember is a small shop in Chicago. We collect only what we need to fill your order or answer your request, and we never sell or share it.

Browsing the site

No cookies, no ad trackers. There are no tracking pixels and no advertising tools on this site.
Your cart stays in your browser. What you add to the cart is saved in your own browser so it's still there when you come back. It doesn't reach us until you place an order. Your fire-crackle sound setting is saved the same way. Clearing your browser's site data removes both.
Visitor counts. We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify you. Cloudflare also hosts the site, so like any web host its servers handle each page request.
Fonts. The site's typefaces load from Google Fonts, so your browser connects to Google, which receives your IP address.
Instagram. Our Instagram link takes you to Instagram, where its own privacy policy applies.

When you place an order

Checkout sends your name, email, shipping address (or your local pickup choice), any note, the items, the total and the payment app you picked to our inbox, through a form service called Web3Forms. Web3Forms delivers it to us by email and may keep a copy for up to 30 days.
You pay through PayPal, Venmo or Cash App, under their own privacy policies. We never see your card or bank details.
We keep order emails as our business records, for shipping, returns and taxes. Our shop email is hosted by Proton Mail.

The want list

The "Looking for something?" form sends what you're looking for, your first name, your email or phone, and any notes to our inbox the same way. We use it only to contact you about that piece, and we don't copy your contact details anywhere else.

What we don't do

We don't sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't add you to a mailing list. We only share it when we have to: with the services above that make the shop work, or if the law requires it.

Your choices

Email [email protected] to ask what we have about you, to correct it, or to delete it. We'll take care of it within 30 days, usually much sooner. The only exception is order records we have to keep for taxes.

Children

This site isn't meant for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

If anything here changes, we'll update this page and the date below.
